Rosacea is a chronic skin condition characterized by persistent redness, visible small blood vessels (telangiectasias), and sometimes inflammatory flare-ups in the form of small papules. It primarily affects the face, involving the cheeks, nose, chin, and forehead, and can be triggered by various factors such as heat, stress, or certain foods. Although not harmful to health, rosacea can have an aesthetic impact and affect self-confidence.
Rosacea is caused by dysfunction of the blood vessels, leading to an overreaction to external stimuli such as temperature changes, sun exposure, or certain spicy foods. It is often worsened by genetic, hormonal, and environmental factors, and can be triggered by an excessive inflammatory response of the skin. Over time, the accumulation of redness and dilated blood vessels can become more visible and permanent.
Erythematotelangiectatic rosacea: Characterized by persistent redness (erythema) on the face and the presence of small dilated blood vessels (telangiectasias). The skin may also be more sensitive and reactive to external stimuli.
-Papulopustular rosacea: This type resembles acne, featuring red papules and pustules (small pus-filled lesions) on the cheeks, chin, and forehead. Unlike acne, there are no blackheads, and underlying redness is common.
-Phymatous rosacea: Less common, it causes thickening of the skin and an increase in tissue volume, often affecting the nose (rhinophyma). It primarily affects men and can develop gradually over time.
Thanks to its regenerative growth factors, PRP promotes cellular repair, strengthens the skin barrier, and reduces chronic inflammation, resulting in skin that is more resilient and less reactive.
This intense pulsed light (IPL) technology targets redness and dilated blood vessels, effectively reducing the appearance of telangiectasias and evening out the skin tone. It also helps soothe inflammation by improving blood circulation beneath the skin.
